The Sale Mechanism: An Overview
Starting June 22, there will be 4,500 Trefoil Flower Mint Passes up for mint on OpenSea. These passes, crucially, offer a direct link between the digital and physical worlds. Essentially, the presale release is divided into different access tiers.
The first tier offers early access and a price discount to holders of certain Adidas and FEWOCiOUS NFTs, namely those from:
- the ALTS by Adidas NFT with DECOS ALT[er] Ego,
- ALTS by Adidas NFT with SOLES ALT[er] Ego, or
- FEWOCiOUS x FewoWorld: Paint Drops NFT collections.
The mint price for this tier is set at 0.2 ETH, roughly equivalent to $350. The second tier, priced slightly higher at 0.25 ETH (approximately $430), allows presale access to holders of any ALTS by Adidas NFT ALT[er] Egos and any FEWOCiOUS NFTs. Finally, the third tier extends access to holders of NFTs from various well-known collections like Gmoney’s Admit One, Bored Ape Yacht Club, and Farokh’s Rug Radio, among others.
Connecting the Digital and Physical Worlds
What makes these mint passes special is the tangible reward they offer. Trefoil Flower Mint Pass holders can claim a physical pair of artist-designed Adidas sneakers. But the reward doesn’t stop there. Additionally, they will receive a Digital Twin NFT, bound to the footwear using an NFC chip. Physical sneakers will be shipped starting September.
Adidas has been actively pushing its boundaries into the Metaverse NFT ecosystem, evidenced by the release of its ALTS by Adidas collection in April. The iconic streetwear brand also previously teamed up with Italian luxury fashion giant Prada on a Polygon-based NFT collection and has enjoyed success with several digital wearable projects.
On the other hand, FEWOCiOUS, or Victor Langlois, has been making waves in the NFT space. The 20-year-old artist’s Paint Drop collection, launched in April 2022, generated an impressive $20 million in sales within just 24 hours. Details of his upcoming Fewos NFT collection were recently made public, adding to the excitement surrounding his collaborations.
This intriguing partnership between Adidas and FEWOCiOUS encapsulates the exciting potential of the NFT market, paving the way for future digital-physical integrations in the fashion industry.
