Bitget has confirmed that it will stop providing services to some customers in what the exchange calls a one-off exercise. The crypto exchange shared the update in a post on X on Saturday. It said affected users’ funds will stay safe during the change. The wider platform will keep running as usual.
Who is affected
The users involved will get direct notices by email, in-app messages, or push notifications. Those messages should explain next steps, deadlines, and withdrawal arrangements. Bitget added that people who have not received an official notice can keep using their accounts normally. That distinction matters. A social media rumor or a forwarded screenshot is not the same as an account-level message.
Support and safety checks
Customer support is available for pending orders, withdrawals, and other account questions during the process. Bitget also urged users to stick to official channels. It warned about phishing links, impersonation accounts, and unverified information. Users can check asset safety through a guide on verifying assets in Bitget at https://abcdstable.com/academy/how-to-verify-your-assets-in-bitget. The link is included in the notice. Still, users should confirm any URL before logging in, perhaps by typing the address manually or using a bookmark.
Earlier security breach
The service change comes after a rough period for the exchange. Cointelegraph reported on Sept. 25 that Bitget confirmed unauthorized transfers and temporarily paused withdrawals while it investigated a security breach. A security company later said the total stolen in that breach was about $388 million. Bitget has not linked the new service change to that incident in the notice. The timing may draw attention, but the company’s statement frames the move as a customer-specific exercise.
What users should do
Affected customers should watch for official messages and follow the stated deadlines. They should keep records of notices and use support if anything about an order or withdrawal is unclear. Users who have not been contacted do not need to act, based on the exchange’s statement. As always, they should treat urgent DMs and copied links with suspicion. For now, the main point is simple: a limited group is being moved through a service change, and Bitget says customer funds remain safe.
