XRP reserves on Binance fall to lowest level since 2022

Binance now holds the smallest XRP reserve since December 2022

CryptoQuant data shows Binance held 2.47 billion XRP on October 30. Two days earlier, that figure was 2.69 billion. The drop works out to about 8.18%, with more than 220 million XRP withdrawn in a short window.

Lower exchange balances can mean fewer coins are sitting ready to be sold. If demand holds steady, that can ease immediate selling pressure. It is not a guarantee, though. Crypto markets are still volatile, and XRP price has not shown a clear reaction to the reserve decline yet.

Other exchanges see smaller declines

The move is not limited to Binance. Bybit’s XRP reserves fell from 306 million to 286 million over the same period, a 20 million drop. Bithumb saw a smaller decrease, from 1.847 billion to 1.837 billion XRP. That is about 0.54%.

The scale is different. Binance’s decline is larger and has drawn more attention because it is the biggest exchange by trading volume. Still, the direction across exchanges suggests that some holders may be moving coins off trading venues. Whether that is long-term holding, a transfer to self-custody, or something else is harder to say from reserves alone.

What the signal does and does not show

A falling reserve is often framed as a buying signal. It can be, perhaps, but the data has limits. Coins leaving an exchange do not always mean investors are accumulating. They could be moving for custody, collateral, or other operational reasons. That may explain why XRP has not jumped on the news.

For now, the key number is Binance’s 2.47 billion XRP. It is the lowest since late 2022, and it comes while the wider market remains under pressure. I think the trend is worth watching, but one reserve drop is not enough to call a turnaround. Traders will likely look for sustained withdrawals and a price response before treating it as a stronger signal.
