Chainlink partners with Hanwha Investment & Securities for RWA tokenization

Chainlink has formed a partnership with Hanwha Investment & Securities, a South Korean financial firm, to support a global platform for tokenizing real-world assets. The companies announced the move at Link:NYC. Korea’s Financial News reported the deal, and TokenPost also covered the tie-up.

The plan is to use Chainlink’s data and interoperability tools for asset tokenization work. That fits a broader push by financial firms to bring traditional assets onto blockchain rails. For Chainlink, the deal adds another institutional name to a list of partners that already includes major market players. But the details are still thin.

A new institutional tie-up

Hanwha Investment & Securities brings local market access and financial experience. Chainlink brings oracle infrastructure and cross-chain messaging. The partnership also includes a research component. That research could matter because tokenized assets need reliable pricing, settlement data, and proof that off-chain records match on-chain tokens. I think the research angle is the part to watch. It may shape how the platform handles compliance and asset verification, though the public material does not say much about specific designs.

Early stage and open questions

The project is still in development. That means the announcement is a signal of intent, not a live product with confirmed volume. Chainlink and Hanwha have not shared a full technical roadmap, and they have not named the first assets or markets. The partnership points to growing institutional use of Chainlink’s data and interoperability tools. It does not, by itself, show an effect on token demand for LINK. That distinction matters. Corporate partnerships can support long-term adoption, but they do not always translate into immediate network fees or token purchases. Perhaps the market will learn more as the platform moves from research to testing.

Wider Link:NYC news

The Hanwha deal was not the only institutional item from Link:NYC. Chainlink’s event recap also listed adoption by S&P Global Ratings and LG CNS. Those names add weight to the company’s enterprise pitch. Still, the Hanwha project is early. The confirmed facts are simple: a partnership exists, a research component is included, and the platform is not yet finished. The rest remains to be seen.
