Binance Replenishes 90% of Assets After $6.3B Cyberattack

Binance says it has refilled most of the assets affected by a cyberattack that it values at about $6.3 billion. In a security update posted minutes ago, the exchange said 90% of the stolen crypto has been replaced using company resources. That is up from 80% in its previous notice.

The exchange said reserves for ten major assets are fully covered: Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, BNB, Solana, USDC, XRP, USD1, RLUSD and ZEC. The remaining 10% is tied to lower-liquidity altcoins. Binance says it will keep buying those tokens through market and over-the-counter trades.

Losses and funding sources

Binance repeated that it will absorb all financial losses from the attack and that users should not carry the cost. The company has tapped several funding sources to cover more than $6.34 billion in losses.

A portion of its SAFU emergency fund will be used, with that move expected to finish within 24 hours. Binance also redirected part of its Futures Insurance Fund to repurchase affected assets. It said only excess resources above the required safety level were used and that the fund stayed above its risk-management minimum. The exchange pledged to restore the SAFU fund to about $1 billion.

Proof-of-reserves update

Binance also published a new proof-of-reserves snapshot to show users where reserves stand after the attack. The snapshot was taken on October 31, 2026, at 03:00 Turkish time and uploaded to the exchange’s official PoR page.

Preparing the zero-knowledge proof that supports the verification takes roughly 40 to 50 hours, according to Binance. Full verification data is expected by Tuesday, November 3. Users should then be able to check independently that their holdings in the ten named cryptocurrencies are matched at least one-to-one.

When withdrawals may resume

Withdrawals had been suspended after the attack. Binance said security checks and infrastructure work are moving as planned, with a target to reopen withdrawals on Sunday, November 1. The exact timeline is not confirmed yet, and the company said it will share details through official channels.

Altcoin purchases for the remaining 10% are still ongoing. Once that process is done, Binance says it will bear the full financial impact. For now, users are waiting on two clear signals: the withdrawal restart and the final reserve verification.
