Crypto exchange Binance has announced it will support the planned network upgrade and hard fork on the Metal DAO (MTL) network. According to a statement, token deposits and withdrawals on the MTL network will be temporarily suspended to ensure a smooth technical transition and protect user experience.
The suspension is scheduled for July 8, 2026, at 6:00 PM. Binance says this step aims to prevent any technical disruptions during the upgrade and hard fork, and to keep user assets secure. The upgrade itself is expected to happen around 7:00 PM on the same day.
No Action Needed from Users
Binance emphasized that it will handle all necessary technical requirements on behalf of users. This means MTL holders don’t need to do anything extra for the transition. Importantly, trading of MTL tokens on Binance will continue as normal. Only deposit and withdrawal services are being paused temporarily.
Once the upgrade is complete and the network is confirmed stable, Binance will resume deposits and withdrawals. The exchange noted that it won’t issue a separate announcement when services are reactivated; they will be enabled directly.

For traders using MTL pairs on Binance, business as usual. The restriction only affects moving tokens in or out of the exchange. So if you’re just holding or trading MTL, you likely won’t notice any disruption.
