Binance, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges globally, has announced it will support a major name change for Toncoin. The altcoin, currently trading under the ticker $TON, will soon be rebranded as Gram (GRAM). All existing $TON transactions on Binance will be automatically converted to the new token in the coming weeks.
Key Dates and Trading Pair Removals
According to a schedule published by the exchange, the transition will begin on June 30, 2026, at 06:00 UTC. At that time, all existing spot trading pairs for $TON will be removed. This includes pairs such as $TON/$FDUSD, $TON/IDR, $TON/TRY, $TON/U, $TON/$USD1, $TON/$USDC, and $TON/$USDT. Trading on these pairs will cease, and any open orders for $TON will be automatically canceled by the system.
Suspension of Deposits and Withdrawals
Binance will also temporarily suspend deposit and withdrawal services for $TON tokens. This suspension will take effect on June 30, 2026, at 06:30 AM. Users are strongly advised to complete any transfers before this cutoff time. They should also ensure that enough time is allowed for transactions to be fully confirmed by the network.
Gram Trading Goes Live
The rebranding process is expected to be finalized by July 2, 2026. At 10:00 AM that day, deposit and withdrawal services for the new Gram token will be opened. Trading will follow one hour later, at 11:00 AM. The new pairs for Gram will mirror the old ones, including GRAM/$FDUSD, GRAM/IDR, GRAM/TRY, GRAM/U, GRAM/$USD1, GRAM/$USDC, and GRAM/$USDT.
Automatic Conversion for Users
Binance has stated that users do not need to take any technical actions to participate in the conversion. The exchange will handle all technical requirements for the token swap automatically. Once the process is completed, support for depositing and withdrawing the old $TON tokens will end permanently.
Background on the Rebrand
Toncoin is the native asset of the $TON ecosystem, which is a continuation of a blockchain project originally developed by the team behind Telegram. The decision to rebrand appears to align with the project’s new strategic goals and its evolving ecosystem vision.
