XRP Leads South Korea Altcoin Trading Surge; TRUMP Follows

Over the last 24 hours, altcoin activity on South Korea’s two biggest exchanges, Upbit and Bithumb, has been hard to miss. When you combine the numbers from both platforms, two assets clearly stand out: XRP and the Official Trump token, often called TRUMP. The gap between them and the rest of the field is significant.

XRP Dominates the 24-Hour Charts

XRP took the top spot with combined trading volume of roughly $651.5 million. That breaks down to about $411.9 million on Upbit and $239.6 million on Bithumb. To put it differently, XRP trades accounted for nearly a quarter of all spot volume across those two exchanges. That’s a heavy concentration for a single asset.

It’s worth noting that this doesn’t necessarily mean XRP’s price is moving in some dramatic direction. Volume simply reflects how much is changing hands. Sometimes a coin sees heavy trading because of uncertainty or disagreement among buyers and sellers. Other times it’s just momentum from a previous news cycle. There’s no clear answer yet.

Trump Token Holds Second Place

The Official Trump token came in second. TRUMP’s combined trading volume reached $298.7 million, with most of that happening on Upbit at about $263.2 million. Bithumb’s share was much smaller. That’s an interesting split, and it might suggest where retail interest is strongest right now.

For a token that launched relatively recently, sustaining that kind of volume is notable. But it’s also the kind of asset that can swing wildly on headlines. So I’d be cautious about reading too much into a single day’s numbers.

What This Tells Us

Looking at the broader picture, the altcoin market in South Korea continues to behave in its own way. Upbit and Bithumb often serve as a temperature check for retail sentiment in the region. When volume spikes on these platforms, it sometimes influences global trends. But not always.

The fact that XRP is back on top is hardly surprising. It has a strong community and a long trading history. But the presence of TRUMP in second place is a reminder that meme-style tokens and politically themed assets can grab attention quickly, at least for a day or two.

None of this is investment advice, obviously. Volume data tells you what’s happening, not what’s going to happen next. It’s possible these numbers will fade by tomorrow, or they could keep climbing if something new triggers fresh interest. Either way, the last 24 hours made one thing clear: South Korean traders are moving money, and XRP is still a favorite.

That’s maybe the simplest takeaway. For now, the spotlight is on XRP and TRUMP. But in crypto, that can change faster than anyone expects.
